  1. Hi thank you for the help. I think I have the problem figured out. The frame is busted. I do not know to what degree but i will have to tear it out later. :(
  2. Hi my passenger headlightunit will not come out or apparently lock back into place??? 99 C2 coupe Bi-Xenon daily driver. 1 bulb is burnt out and replacing with Piaa as soon as I can the unit out. I have to make a road trip back to Kansas tommorow.
  3. Hi, Well I'm just not sure if it could be the outer trim that goes along the window bottom or if it is the side view mirror base that is allowing it to happen. I noticed that there is a 3/16th gap between the glass and the rubber seal aroung the mirror base. I just dont know maybe I can adjust the mirror base as the window was about 1/4in too far forward. I have adjusted the window to the correct position, the part that gets me about that though is that I know it had this problem before I adjusted the window. We'll see.
  4. Hi thanks for the thought but this does not affect and of the cabin carpet just the little strip on the bottom of the door around the speaker. I'm gonna do some more inspecting but I am really at a loss with this. I do know that there was a little water on the speaker housing in the door when I removed the panel so I am going to go through the side view mirror mount. I'll post what I find incase someone else should run into this.
  5. Well noticed it before after washing the car real good and figured that I must of some how gotten water on the door panel. Well after driving in a nice rain it is confirmed somehow water is getting inside the car door and saturating the lower door carpet? I had the door panel off and checked for water in the door cavity. There was no sign of water. The only proof of it is that the bottom 1" of the carpeting is completely saturated? TIA
  6. Hey All! Well locating the Problem! Driver window sits differently than the passenger. The driver window at the rear has a gap that is just wider then the width of the keyblade, and the top you can see clearly when looking at it from the side, ie it's not going up into the retaining channel like the passenger side does. Both of the window auto drop features are working as normal but the window just is not sitting where it should be. I have found some clues in past threads but no actual instructions. Thanks in advance
  7. OK, I was not ready for this. It's nice and cold day here and there I am in shorts in my screened porch, female says go get milk. well ok 5 minute drive no prob. I'll go in the shorts. I'm gonna smoke so I roll the window down, and get this!?! there ice cold air rushing out from the speaker grill in the door? Legs freezing! Needless to say, tossed cigarette, but c'mon now, has anyone noticed this before??? I checked all the plugs in the bottom of the door and they are there? Sincerely, confused in KC
  8. Well any updates on the noises or performance of this mod? I have done quite a bit with Stillen and I love their work. I am currently trying to reduce the interior noise level in my car but I would definately like to make normal take offs a little easier, and just the general gains, and benifits from this mod are highly sought after by me. LMK :D
  9. "Ricer" is now a universal term for poser, from the guys with domestic cars posing with Skyline GTR badges, and Japanese script on their cars, to the dimwits who ignorantly remove their enitre exhaust from a NA car and put $20 canisters on it, and cannot figure out why they always loose. 648FWHP 93 Daytona IROC R/T with 400lb. weight reduction, 480FWHP 02 Stillen Built Altima, and a 95 200 SE-R with built SR20 (4CFED4), 3" plumbing piggy back intercoolers, feeding a Disco Potato. Y-M-C-A. . . . . So if you see a car sporting lighted premium sport racing exhaust tips from Auto Zone. Think Ricer! But really I think his car looks good if it is a racer. He should replace the misprints, but other than that it looks pretty sharp and I don't see NO2 stickers all over it so it can't be that bad.?. Lastly I second Zthis's Q. Where can I get a lip like that for my Baby!?!
  10. Hi, I ahve considered the same thing, but could not justify the removal vs. cost ratio. The weight benifit is minimal and well I do not use the car for enough to actually remove the spare. Allthogh it would actually make into a useful space. I can fit about 17 plastic grocery bags in there when absolutely necessary ie. avoiding sleeping on the couch. I think you would be safe as far as not having it, but using the goo is a mess when you change the tire! Good Luck with your decision. P.S. Jim in Overland Park
  11. Hey Thanks Loren! Yes it is all in the owners manual! This book is really helpful. I guess I'll get a hard copy of it as I do not seem to have one. :clapping:
  12. (MY03 Carrera (986) Owners Manual) Is this the right one? What with the numbers I thought the 986 was a Boxster? From my understanding MY03 is Model Year 2003, and a 986 is like an 97 or so boxster?
  13. I guess while on the topic, what kind of bulb does it take? The parts stores all show it taking 2 different bulbe but I only see one buld in there. Am I missing something? So many little unknowns, so much time.
  14. ??? Let me do that? ??? Let me do that? Hmm, ok that settles it I do not have one. I have warranty, maintenance, radio and dealer directory? I must be missing something.
  15. Hi, can someone point me in the direction of some instructions on how to change a light bulb? This is on my 99C2, coupe. Thanks
  16. I guess the word got out and they jacked the price 3X. Man now that just sucks, I was going to buy 3-4 gallons to complete a flush, and keep what I might of had left over. How does that happen???
  17. Hi, has anyone had this problem my windows break seal at 65mph and at 100 and above they might as well not be there. Is there a way to adjust or tighten this up? Also my windows drag against the outer seal when you roll them down. Please help! I have the time to do anything and I would really like to take care of this before I have to go overseas again.
  18. Hi, Yes it will. I have the Champion 3pc. forged 19's running 235/295's with the Champion suspension tuning package and well you most definately should put much better springs on. But I should explain if you are new to low profile tires, you may not like the road noise to come. With the 295's on the rear you pick up alot of noise, especially on bad roads, ie not newly refinished! And you do not want to know about highway road transitions. Then there is the Q as to whether you rub, both my front and rear fenders were rolled on the arch to avoid this, but occasionally I notice the front tire grabbing a bit on the liner when backing up and turning. I don't know about the Porsche springs as everything on my car was done by Champion Motorsports. But as they say that it is to each his own if you are just wanting it to look tough and grip tougher then it is definately recommended by me. I'll post if there is any significant reduction in road noise with my adventures with Dynamat Extreme. Good Luck, and I hope this doesn't scare you too bad, but if you take long drives it can get real annoying as the ambient noise level is hard to talk or hear over.
  19. Hi, all. Looking to see what some of you are getting for city MPG. I'm averaging 130-150 miles per fill-up? Is this normal? I'm not running it hard just normal driving. I get approx 75 miles per a quarter a tank @ 80mph on the highway, I think this is very good. But when it comes to driving around town it just seems redicuosly low. So maybe some of your #'s could help me understand this better. Thanks!
  20. Ok I'll keep that in mind, but I couldn't imagine it being to bad if anything as this company as most should have an arrangement for thier shipping. Atleast I would and do hope?!?
  21. Ok add a couple more. http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/tayco...ation=000777279 http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/tayco...part=Oil+Filter
  22. I hit up this site scrounging for misc parts and what not. This is the first thing I came across so I do not know what else they have but if this is legit then I think this is a really good deal for the porsche community to know about. LMK Jim http://catalog.eautopartscatalog.com/tayco...nt%2FAntifreeze
  23. I am sure most will agree, this is a sum of meny well spent, could mean the life and death of your engine. I did a do it yourself article on it so most people would get the idea. Take a look. http://www.c-speedracing.com/howto_porsche.php Good Luck Thanks for the info. I will keep this in mind depending on how it goes, I have cleaned the area thuroughly and I will monitor it. It was limited to the crossing pipes in front of the oil sump and it looked as though it has been setting up for some time. I just wanted to be sure that there wer no huge known problems from this. So Thanks to you and 1999porsche911. I'l update in a week or so when I check on it for a while. = )
  24. On this note you can use a Dremel type tool to trim away a conservative amount of the cover and use door trim to tidy up the edges. If you think it through you can give yourself one really good custom look. Good luck with it!
