  1. I was led to believe that the part number for a 2000 996 C2 front bumper is 996 505 311 04 but I have come across one with a part number of 996 505 111 02. If this a compatible part number ?
  2. Lets stand up and cheer.....!!!! Best Porsche technical board by far and now 15,000 members!! :clapping: :renntech:
  3. Try Richard Hamiltion he maybe able to help you but I am guessing (albeit I am a Brit but the wrong side of the pond aka in the US)
  4. I think if you mean the console in front of the shifter and its the upper position in this console it is the same trim as the one where it was originally fitted. If it is the lower one it is 996 552 339 00 01C (Assuming standard black)
  5. Some dealers will scratch their heads and think you have gone mad. But the details on how to enable both the OBC and cruise functions can be found on here. So if in doubt print these off and take them with you. Better still (depending on were you are) find someone on here who has access to a PST2 and will help you out. Dealers may charge for the service.
  6. Just a thought, if you are thinking of the PSE from the 2007 S I would double check to see if it will go on an 06 model as the 07 is a 3.4L engine and the 06 is a 3.2. Probally the same muffler but check all the same.
  7. Having recently done this albeit to a 04 Boxster it can be done, with a lot of patience.
  8. During a short shifter install I came across this plug behind the center console. (The other two (red and black) are off the A/C unit that was moved some time ago to make room for the PCM.
  9. That's correct as I also heard that from a Porsche source
  10. The PCM discs you have brought on ebay do require the PCM software to be at version 3.0. You can find out the version of your software by turning on the PCM and pressing MAIN and TRIP at the same time. The update is covered under TSB 13/04 which is available for view on here to contributing members. The update was part of a campaign that was necessary in the US to allow the use of the newly issued Map CDs the update was free at the time. The CD to update your PCM is available from pelican parts ($1.98) Part Number 000 043 205 46. If your car also has BOSE you will also require Part Number 000 043 205 50. With both CDs and the TSB you should be able to upgrade your PCM software yourself to allow you to use the map discs you bought on ebay. hope that helps you Nick (2004 Boxster S with retro-fitted PCM)
  11. See the link below, it includes the instructions you are looking for...hope this helps you Check here
  12. ...any excuse to get another tool for the tool box TP :renntech:
  13. I have the Porsche shifter, a little notchy when cold (as expected) but it is a dream on the track. I found one on ebay from Brandywine Perfomance) for $300 and if your after the stock option its the only choice. As it happens they are showing the B+M kit there too for $125 if that works for you.
  14. If the dealer can't help you that's poor. But I would try ebay for the discs as that is where I picked up mine. See ebay item # 190080273499 its missing disc one which I assume covers amongst others Germany but it covers the UK.
  15. It's also a problem on Boxsters, some solve it by the addition of camber plates (see link below) Link
  16. So how different in handling terms are the shims?
  17. Assuming you want to go genuine porsche and it is a MOST car then its around $4373.88
  18. Picked up link from UK website; 2008 Boxster
  19. Is there also a tool to align the short shifter (Part Number would also be useful) for a 2004 Boxster S and is this tool also good for a 996 C2 ?
  20. This 911 appears to be a cross dresser; It also looks like it has a bra on!!! :D
  21. Thanks for that TP. Am I correct though, the mileage cannot be reset by the dealer to the true milage being transfered from the old used cluster, it can only be done with a new one?
  22. Thanks for the part number, but we need to look at the parts list as all the 2004 S models have the silver display. Hmmm.....$1823 dollars (ish), I am not totally put off, so lets investigate this further.
  23. And the part number for the 2002-2004 OBC cluster is.... and I am sitting down for the price. Assuming I am mad and fit one of these what is the enabling process for the new cluster? (Forgot to add 3.2 S and not tiptronic)
  24. Having just completed the 4-Stalk hack for OBC and Cruise in my 2004 Boxster S I am wondering if it is possible to swap the complete instrument cluster for the LCD version. If it is possible what additional work is required other than swaping the complete cluster? Having swapped the cluster can the cluster be enabled by the use of just the PST or PIWIS or do you need access to the IPAS? (I am assuming a new cluster rather than second hand)
