  1. Does anyone know if the 997 headlights will fit the 996 fenders (I realize that body work will need to happen as they are different shapes, etc. I also know that I will need the new trays and turn signals but I wanted to know if I can save the oem fenders. Also, is the gas door different in the 996 vs the 997? in case I go the OEM 997 fender route? Thank you.
  2. Help! I'm having some serious issues with my locking system on my 97 Boxster... What I have done already: I have replaced both the driver and passenger locks with new units. I have checked all wiring to make sure that there were no shorts etc. My current situation: Initially, after replacing the drivers side lock mechanism when you locked the doors the doors would immediately unlock again. I then replaced the passenger side as well. The lock on the passenger side did not lock when I used the key on the drivers side or the lock button on the dashboard. I have now disconnected the passenger side lock and ran a wire to manually operate the passenger side lock. (very discreet and besides it is my daily driver and very seldom do I ever use that door anyways). When I lock the car now, the flashers start blinking after about 10 minutes. Also, my key remote stopped working a long time ago but I really don't mind manually locking and unlocking the car. At this point, I just want the blinking to stop. My next step is to disconnect drivers side as well to completely by pass the locking system. I am fed up and have spent way too much time on it. BTW the alarm horn is disconnected already. Any toughs on how to stop the blinking lights? Why does it take 10 minutes for them to start blinking? I have read extensively on this so please don't point out the obvious as it was probably was already done. Sorry about any grammar or spelling mistakes...
  3. I changed my stock seats with aftermarket track seats and my cruise control stopped working around the same time. Is this a coincidence or does the stock seat replacement have anything to do with the non functioning cruise control? Any help would be appreciated.
  4. Hello, Has anyone had any issues with door aligment on boxsters which result in the lock mechanism not working properly? I have replaced my lock mechanism recently and have had the lock (error message with the lock I'm told ) reset with the durametric system and still have the issue. When I turn the key to lock the door it locks and makes another locking noise immediately which unlocks the door. Sometimes if I do it twice it may lock but when I try to unlock the car the windows come down about an inch or so but the door wont open. So....if I lean in to the door a little bit I hear a click and I can unlock the door after that. I have tried to adjust the latch on the door jamb and can get it to lock but when I try to unlock it I have to do the leaning thing. However, if its hot outside, the door wont lock or unlock properly. I also get the flashers blinking randomly if the car is locked. Please help. I have now spent almost $1,000 and countless hours and I am still struggling with it. Thank you in advance for any feedback.
