  1. i have the fabspeed exhaust...it has a very nice note to it... deep and aggressive... yet it wont make you deaf over the longer trips on the highway.
  2. yea..the electronic part changes fine from metric to imperial. However it more of an aesthetic thing for me to have at least both MPH and KMH on the gauge face itself. Plus it will make keeping within reasonable speed limits easier to tell without having to always convert metric speed lmits to imperial.
  3. Hey Loren, (or whoever can help me out with this question) I was wondering if you could help me out with this. I need to replace the instrument cluster in my 99 996 C4 because i need the metric (km/h) speedometer and I have a US spec vehicle. I have found a metric speedometer from a 1998 993 and the seller says it will fit a 98-02 911 models. The part number of the cluster he has is 996.641.225.20 Will this fit my 99? Thanks so much for your help! Kevin
  4. how does the OEM PSE compare to other aftermarket exhausts? (sound and perfomance) Does anyone have any .mpg files or .wav files of these exhausts?
  5. Hello All, I just have a couple of noob questions to pose since I am new to the porsche addiction. I was wondering which OBD tool(s) you guys recommend and where to purchase? Also, I was wondering if you could link up some good porsche OEM part suppliers preferably canadian spec parts. I saw the link to that "porsche parts at cost" in one of the previous topics, but they only sell US spec parts and will only ship to the US. I will need a new CDN spec instrument cluster to pass canadian certification so I am looking for a place that might supply this part. For those who have the Eagle F1 GS D3s how do you like them? These are the tires I was leaning towards purchasing since I will need new rubber soon Finally, once I have gotten all of that done, I was wondering what are sort of the first mods that most people do to 996 cars? I assume that most of them entail suspension upgrades, exhaust upgrades etc. Does upgrading the ECU with a chip make a big difference perfomance-wise to normally aspirated engines? TIA for all your help and opinions.
  6. here is a link to one of the other forums where they discuss the RMS issue. http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15
  7. wow.. thats a pretty neat trick.. thanks. I talked to the local dealership and they said it could be as simple as changing a relay or they may have to put in a new harness (2-3 hrs of labor) FYI: I have found and purchased a 99 996 C4! Im very excited and should have it shipped up here within a couple of weeks.
  8. thanks.. i think I also got my answer about the DRLs.. which is a no... guess that will be my first mod. :P
  9. Hi all, I am in the midst of a search for my first P-car, and i just have a couple of questions about purchasing used 911s. I have read the caveat about the RMS issue in the MY99 models, does this affect all of the cars, or mainly the first production run of the cars? Are there any other known common problems I should be aware of? Also, I am actually located in Canada, but I am purchasing a U.S spec vehicle so I will need to do a few modifications for it to meet inspection standards here in Canada. Do the US models have DRLs? (daytime running lights) Also, does porsche make an OEM duel Imperial/Metric speedometer face that I can have installed? TIA for all your help! :D
