  1. I would also consider your brake pads. If you are not running track pads, it's easy to get them hot in a hurry and then you'll have no brakes and it will have the symptoms you suggest.
  2. And BTW, I recommend that you replace that one fitting with a new plastic one from Porsche, that way you can keep the OEM spring clamp on the fitting. I had to put the crummy hose clamps on it because the barb fitting was too big. YMMV
  3. You will need the special pliers for the hose clamps from Craftsman. They make an almost impossible job without them a job that you laugh at with them. http://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/870786-need-some-advice-coolant-issue-2.html#post12253154
  4. Here's a little info on the same job that I just completed: http://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/916373-installed-new-water-pump-thermostat-what-do-you-think-of-this-oil-leak.html I would also buy the new little plastic white connector piece from Porsche shown in my thread and replace it also. Best of luck!
  5. You can read my coolant expansion tank thread here: http://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/870786-need-some-advice-coolant-issue.html Then the darn thing failed on me again! Changed it out last month with an OEM tank and a new cap. Before you start draining and refilling, figure out what the cause of the failure is, the go forward.
  6. This is good info as I have to change my pads in the future, my cam deviation is about 7 or 8 degrees depending how hot the motor is. Hopefully I'll just rent the tools from somebody. Jeff in PA: Do you post on Rennlist? If so, you must have a different screen name.....but I am going to say for some reason you don't. Your posts are always helpful.
  7. Just replace the regulator with a new one vs. trying to fix it. I bought a new regulator off ebay for $90 and replaced it. More info here: http://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/869285-help-me-troubleshoot-my-window.html
  8. If your airbag has never been off before, the T30 (T35?) screws that hold it on are very difficult to get loose. I use a screwdriver type torx tool and use an adjustable wrench on the handle for added fulcrum. Make sure you disconnect the battery for about 30 minutes prior to doing this so you don't have an airbag light on when done. You'll need the radio code.
