  1. Just wondering: how do you drain the radiator coolant on a Cayenne diesel? I do not see a drain plug.
  2. At 5K miles I am doing my first diesel oil change. I have never seen black oil drain from a car before! After reading several posts I decided on the drain method instead of extraction. By the way, for those who criticize the extraction method it is actually recommended by Mercedes as they say you can get more of the old oil out. I got a nice Mityvac extractor and use it on my E350. Once you learn how to position the hose, which takes some trial and error, it is actually an easy and efficient way to get the oil out. On the Cayenne the drain plug is pretty easy to access and well positioned. Oil cost for the Mobile 1 ESP: Pep Boys: $12.50 per quart Dealer: $8.50 per quart Does anyone know the torque value for the drain plug. It did not feel very tight maybe 20 ft-lbs at most.
  3. My Cayenne maintenance book says for 10K miles "Also drain water from/replace fuel filter". I checked the Audi Q7 TDI forum and they said there is a drain plug on the filter housing, but I don't see a drain plug on the Cayenne housing. Has anyone figured this out yet? Replacing the filter itself looks pretty straight forward.
  4. I can usually add a little DIY theft proteciton to any car by tapping in to the brake (or clutch on a manual shift) switches on the pedals with a hidden switch, which in turn are connected to interlocks that prevent the car from starting. However my new 2013 Cayenne Diesel is the first car I have owned that does not actually have a brake pedal switch! Or at least not one I can find. Does anyone know how to access the brake pedal switch connection, or know of a similarly simple interlock that can prevent the car from being started?
