  1. I did this on my 996, if you´re a contributing member you can reach all the instruction needed for it here on renntech. This is a fairly easy install, a complete retrofit package can be ordered from the dealership.
  2. ..back to normal :clapping: Again, thanks a lot! Anyway, almost everything I ask the dealership to do, they mess it up..
  3. Thank you for your answer :) What if I just put the old one back in place, do you think it´ll read correctly?
  4. Hi, I went to the dealership and asked them to swap the instrument cluster. I bought one with kilometer readings on ebay. It works fine but the fuel reading is wrong, is there a quick way to adjust it? Many thanks, Throstur
  5. Well I nudged a few things, tapped all the moving parts and voila it worked. :clapping: So it´s a love and hate relationship... I´ve had some of the silliest problems with my car, always works out fine B) Thanks  Throstur
  6. Thank you guys for your answers. The lid doesn´t close completely... ( but it closes when the top is up ) I´ve had a very good look at the rods etc. attached to the lid and everything seems to be ok. So my guess there´s either some fault code preventing this or a sensor. I took it to the dealer this morning and I have to wait for a few weeks :cursing:
  7. Does anyone know if there are any switces I can check? I somehow expect the problem is minor, because I can close the convertible with no problems..
  8. Looks like I didn´t search well enough... :) http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6967 probably the cause.. Well that didn´t work.. :( Any ideas, anyone? Throstur
  9. Looks like I didn´t search well enough... :) http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=6967 probably the cause..
  10. Hi everyone, I tried to open the top and the lid didn´t close completely(see attachment), any ideas? What I´ve tried already is: ..find a similar problem here on the forum :) ..opening and closing the engine compartment, then trying again ..door and switch inside opening/closing the top, same.. ..applying the handbrake, I get the light on the dashboard - switch works Throstur
  11. Problem solved. I went and got the Ignition Switch, headed to the dealership and was going to swap the old one out. However they had already fixed the problem :clapping: Very strange fault, the clutch sensor was jammed, preventing the car to start. :cursing: So now I just went for my first drive on my Carrera... wooooohaaaaaaa :king: I´m just going to keep the Ignition Switch for later. Thank you guys, really appreciate your help !!!!!!! Throstur
  12. Thanks for the reply :) I´ll try this, especially the moisture, however the hardtop has been for longer than two months at least now.. What kind of problem is known with the ignition, do you know what needs to be replaced? Is it the immobilizer braking down or is it something else in the switch? Throstur
  13. The problem is, it´s very difficult to access these connections, can they be accessed elsewhere than in the back of the engine bay (behind the rear seats) ??
  14. Hi everyone, New to the forum :) Few days ago I imported a Carrera 2 cab 996, 2001. I drove for 30 minutes, went to a gas station and filled it, however it never started again :( Now the car is at the local dealership, they´re trying to figure out what has happened with no success. All gadgets work, brand new battery(reads 14V), all lights on etc., except the **** starter is refusing to turn, no sound, nothing. I suspect to immobilizer but they(the guys at the dealership) want to dissassemble the whole area above the engine to check the starter, I doubt it will do any help, however I´m not a pro so I think it´s best to shut up... There are only a handful of carreras and boxters in Iceland, and none has had this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Throstur
