  1. opsss sorry about the "top" thing........so $299 did not give you any issues?......I called a local Porsche and the service person said:" honestly if the car is still running with this kind of mileage and there is no problem like IMS failing already, I shouldn't worry much about the IMS and servicing for oil change every 5k miles instead the 15,000 interval will certainly help" is there any truth to that???
  2. Hello, 2001 Boxster s, 98000........ no know history of anything..specially IMS replacement....Last visit to independent Porsche tech, he suggested to replace the clutch.....no slipping or anything tolerate driving it daily but why not.....I am currently shopping for clutch kit on ebay and found prices for sachs ranging from $330 to $600 (would love to know if I go for cheaper, I am going to be in trouble or really what is the difference??.... I am not clutch abuser by any means).... sure everyone will also suggest IMS replacement....Is 2001 BOXSTER S single or double row???? and finally, I know most will suggest LN engineering but is there other less pricey option like OEM one ( I see one for $50 japan production???..brand new ) specially if you will replace the IMS every clutch cycle...say 30,000 miles! advice truly appreciated,
  3. it turned out to be broken rear drive cv axle on to both sides (inner and outer). So, got axle assembly and problem solved, is this common though? ? ?

  6. Hello everyone, Yesterday on my way home, I started the car and while on first gear,I heard clicking coming from the back of the 2001 boxster S. Then shifted second gear, strong knocking with faster rhythm as I accelerated the car.The sound is like I am sitting in a metal container and an broken iron bar knocking on it (depending on the speed of the car, the knocking also goes faster); it is very loud. I can feel the vibration of the knocking when I sit my arm on arm rest in middle console. since I was heading home, I had to drive on highway and although the car reach a little over the speed limit with no problem, the knock was consistent as a loud fast noise. I took exit and the metal bar knocking get slower as I reduced speed and again it increase as I go from zero to higher speed. I parked the car and next day I called tow truck and here she goes to my indy mechanic. He had not had chance to even drive it yet and I am going nuts to find what's wrong. I looked youtube for similar knocking noise to match my case here but nothing I can have my hand on.............I hope you guys can help with opinions or ideas about the problem.
  7. Problem solved................. Contact Support for Steering Wheel Air Bag ( AKA: Spiral spring unit) was broken............ I guess aging have to do a lot with it Loren. Thanks man and take care.
  8. Thank you Loren. would this horn problem make the airbag system inactive in Durametric display. note: no airbag light on on dash.
  9. yes, horn works without the key when I press on the horn and not with the key when you press on it.
  10. Hello Everyone, I have 2001 Boxster S. I am currently experiencing problem with the horn. Both horns Hi & Lo are in working order and horn fuse is in good shape as well. The problem is: while the key NOT in the ignition, the horn beeps as it suppose to function. however, once key in the ignition or the car running, horn is dead. Key Switch have been checked by my Porsche independent tech, yet it was not the problem. The tech said that the airbag is shown inactive or unrecognized by durametric system analysis, which may be causing the horn not to function. I am hoping to know for certain what is the problem, any ideas??
  11. Hello, I am hoping you can help me. I have 2001 Boxster S and after replacing the battery, the CD220 asked for four digits code. My CD model number is 4462 and serial number is 15075774. Thank you for your time,
