  1. Hi Sorry not good news I had this issue and cost me £££'s I tried cheaper methods but only option is replace steering column I'm in the UK but have seen an Australian mechanic who have found a way of getting round this problem see video. Maybe someone can contact him and get his know how to us living in The UK etc.
  2. Hi Update had to order steering column from Porsche but my mechanic is having difficulty coding it to the car. Any tips what he could do?
  3. Meanwhile just to update I had the car towed to my local mechanic the AA had to put the gearbox into emergency neutral manually to tow it away as everything was dead except for the air con and stereo . My mechanic tried to plug it into his machine but the car would not communicate he did mention he could only communicate to an ecu in the steering column but nothing else he is currently still trying to get the whole system to "wake up" he even tried emergency mode but to no avail, any input guys greatly appreciated.
  4. Sorry when I unlock the car on the dash it says steering faulty
  5. Hello hope you guys girls are well, I have a steering fault on my Porsche 2003 4.5s Cayenne now done 108000 miles rendering the car totally useless battery is ok wont turn over nothing. Is it bad news in terms of ££'s. I do like my car but it is getting on a bit now. I had the water pipe upgrade would prefer to keep it as cant afford to upgrade. Its has been converted to LPG 7 years ago and has been faultless with an electronic valve saver fitted .Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi I'm gonna jump in this too as I've had no luck as my A/C flap actuator which defrosts the front windscreen does not direct air to the windscreen no more, when I press the windscreen defrost button I can hear the air going but is blocked and not going up toward the windscreen. I think it would be a good idea to start a thread on a solution to these A/C flap actuators.

  19. Hi Took the covers off under the engine to find a slight oil leak seems to be covering the sump and going towards the back but could not find the culprit. The sump nut is dry took the car to a Porsche specialist and told him to have a look while replacing the track control arms but said would need more time to look he couldn't see anything from valve cover gasket any suggestions before I take it back to him he did say that he might need to drop the engine if nothing was obvious! It's an 2003 cayenne s with 103k Thanks
