  1. I am also thinking of moving from a 2.7 2003 Boxster to a targa--- preferably a CPO car. If anyone has any suggestions or leads, let me know. This was a very helpful thread. 2003 2.7 46K, (New Engine at 34K)
  2. Could you describe how you adjusted the hardtop seals to better fit the windows? I've heard some talk about inserting a small rubber tube into the seal-- but no additional details were provided. Any details would be greatly appreciated as I have some wind noise with my hardtop on right now. Thanks!
  3. I think mine is coming from the top, too. Let me know if you figure this one out.
  4. The Porsche Dealer certified a car you bought privately? Is this typical?
  5. I’ve had my '03 Boxster for a little over a year. When I go over bumps, small potholes, or rough bridge expansion joints WITH MY windows up-- my driver’s side door makes a heavy sounding thud. An area dealer told me they could not recreate the thud- but they did lubricate the top, which seemed to make it a little better-- or at least I tried to think so. The thud never completely stopped, but now it is getting a lot worse. I’ve done searches on all the boards and checked all the TSBs and haven’t found an answer. It only happens when the window is all the way up. If I crack the window- even a small bit- the thud will not occur. I would really like to go to the dealer with some ideas for fixing this. Any theories that might help would be appreciated. Many Thanks
  6. You don't need to remove the panels. Get a 7-9 inch 5mm Hex wrench. Put the bolt on the wrench- put a plastic bag over the tip of the bolt and punch through the bag just enough for the bolt to thread (preventing the bolt from falling off and down the side of the car) and then angle the bolt to the spinlock area. The top must be up and it helps if you have a little flashlight to illuminate the spinlock.
