Can I put a set of 2000 Boxster S red Brembo brakes and rotors directly onto a 2006 Boxster for an upgrade or do I need adapters and different wheels? Current wheels on the 2006 are 18". George

We did an engine-transmission swap from a 2001 Boxster S into a 2000 Boxster S and the temp gauge is not working. Has been to two reputable Porsche shops and they were unable to get it to work. First shop verified that the sending unit was functioning and that the gauge did move. Tried swapping the 2001 instrument cluster and that did not work, said they are different. We get a red light at the gauge when the ignition is first turned on and it goes out when car in started. But no movement in needle on driving. Has anyone had similar problem and any suggestions on a fix would be appreciated. George

Kevin, Read your post and checked out the you tube video and today built a wiring jumper and hooked it up in the 6 area as you show with your solid white arrow. And it worked. We installed a full power drivers seat from a 2001 S into our 2000 S. Look closely at the guy in the video as to where he puts the power wires and where the two ground wires go and you are set. Rather than pull the block apart to hook up the power and ground from the car we just spliced into a red hot wire and a brown ground wire before they entered the block. George the Oldporscheguy

We put a 2001 S engine I our 2000 S Boxstzer and can't get the gauge to show any reading of the coolant temperature. We have been to two shops with qualified Porsche mechanics and they are scratching their heads. They have tested the sending unit and it works. We tried putting the 2001 S instrument cluser in place of the original cluster and it did not work. So we are at a loss as to what to do. Can we somehow hook up an aftermarket gauge to the sender? Do we need to try another 2000 S cluster? Any suggestions as to what to do will be appreciated.

My CD changer was not working so picked up a similar one on EBay. Can I just remove my original and plug in the replacement without any problems from the on board computer? Or do I have to have the computer reprogrammed ?

As a Porsche owner since 1964 I recently acquired a 996 TT my first 996. I figured I better get one before they took away my license and make me go to the AARP drivers education programs. Anyway I am wondering if I need to have the 996TT level to drain the oil or can I just raise it up in the rear to access the drain plugs. Appreciate your input and have read many topics and think there is a wealth of knowledge here at the forum. Thanks.
