Leaking lower valve cover

Recommended Posts

My 96 993 C4 lower valve cover is leaking oil around the metal sleeve in the plastic housing. I tried to replace the gasket with no luck. I've heard you can upgrade to one piece aluminum valve covers. Anybody have any experience with them? Who makes a good set at a good price? Any help would be great, I'm tired of the blue smoke at red lights. Thanks.

I hadn't had any problems with my VC's and they have been dry since I did the gaskets, so I can't help you with the aftermarket VC's. I would suggest though that if you still run your engine under tray, get rid of it. Thats what has warped your covers. They retain so much heat and just cook everything on the motor's bottom.
