Dension Gateway 500, installed and working!

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

Perhaps you all know about the Dension Gateway 500, but I'm so happy at the moment because I just had it installed in my car (2003 Carrera 4) For those of you that don't know what it is, take a look at this site http://www.dension4u.de/shop/product_info....products_model=

In short, it's a interface between the PCM2 head unit and a Apple iPod. It enables the iPod to be controlled from the PCM (and/or steering wheel) buttons! The sound is transmitted through a optical cable so there's no degradation in sound quality (which is very important to me) I haven't played with that much yet, but if you're interested I'll keep you updated in this thread.

Kind regards,

Karl

Hi Karl

Did you leave the CD changer in the fibre loop?

Shap

Shap, we are the primary US distributor for Dension for the Porsche, and can answer most of your questions.

The CDC is taken out of the loop and is not supported by the Dension, however there are some threads on Rennlist regarding a few hackers who have managed to make it work. Feel free to email me with any questions: eric@bumperplugs.com

If you go to our site at BumperPlugs.com click the Order page and see the item description, there is a link to details and screen shots.

Thanks.
