Electrical Problems with 2006 Boxster S

Recommended Posts

Have a 2006 Boxster S that has developed problems with the electrical system. The first problem happened when I had a passenger in the car and the seat back was all the way against the firewall. Caused all kinds of messages to come up and faults to be listed while the passenger was in the seat. Cleared up after the trip when the seat was empty and moved away from the firewall. Next problem happened after the car sat for 5 days while I was out of town. When I went to start the car, it was completely dead. I jumped the battery and it started and recharged, but I had a message that there was a PSM fault and the car should visit the workshop. Took it in and they found a faulty front hood latch/sensor that they thought was the source of the battery drain. Was fine for about a week, then I let the car sit for 3 days. Car started fine and drove it about a mile to the gym. When I tried to lock the car, the remote lock did not work. Didnt think too much about it at the time. When I came out about an hour later, the car battery was completely dead. Subsequently jumped the battery and took it the shop, but they cant find any problems based on the Porsche scan tool.

Anybody had a similar problem? Any ideas? Best approach to trouble shoot?

Hi

IN my opinion you have got a problem with one or more control modules, witch refuse to get in the sleep mode. Inspect the wiring under the pass. seat for damage, in case of no damage go to your dealer. With the PIWIS tester in 987 - special functions - wake up guardian, is it possible to eliminate the problem.

Succes
