brake rotors under warranty?

Recommended Posts

I took my 05 Cayenne V6 (12K miles currently) to the dealer recently and reported that when braking from highway speeds the steering wheel vibrates. Dealer identified the cause as brake rotors are glazed from heat.

Is the repair/replacement of the brake rotors covered under warranty?

Hi! I think no, because 12KM and 2005. As i know warranti on discs works first 5000 km in europe, and in this case dealer should make a lot of measurements, then try to cut surface with special device, then replace discs. Let me know if some will be else in your case, please. Was a lot of problems with TT or TTS, never V6.

Regards.

Alex.

It's best to ask several dealers if it's covered or not. I've seen time and time again where one dealer will state the part is not covered and the next one does under good will. Brakes are a grey area as is with them being considered a "consumable item". If the rotor thickness is still within limits just get them resurfaced. Vibrations/shimmys under braking loads can be caused from other things then just brake rotors.... it is often incorrectly diagnosed and the result of worn/seized suspension/brake components.
