can a DSP unit easily be added to the M490 (hi-fi) setup?

I was wondering if I can add the DSP unit from a Premium setup to my HiFi setup.

I have a 2001 S Boxster. I'm thinking that I might just need to buy a cable or two

to make this work but I'm wondering if anyone has any direct experience.

DSP work with the digital amp. From my memory I think it is option 680.

Just to be clear then, the M490 in 2001 used an analog Harman Kardon amp, right?

So the DSP isn't a drop-in, cable or not?

I am not the stereo guy. I think the problem is what you noted. 490 is an analog amp so it with not work with the DSP control unit as the unit is for a digital amp. 680 is the digital amp that goes with the DSP control unit.
