2008 Boxster order timing

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm new to the forum and looking forward to my first new Porsche, but have a question regarding Porsche's typical order timing/process. I tried to order a 2007 Boxster S on April 21, but was told a few days later that there were no more allocations available for a 2007 order. I checked with a couple of dealer's and they confirmed the 2007 model run was winding down. My dealer offered to order me a 2008 S with delivery around the beginning of January 2008-which I accepted. With the change over to the 2008 model production supposedly slated for August, when would it be realistic for my order to be confirmed by PCNA. Any kind of heads-up would be appreciated so I avoid letting my order languish.

Thanks

This link is old but still timescales and process are still valid.....

If you are taking delivery in January, I would bet they are shipping the car in December, which then means they build the car in November. This would be a rough estimate on the timing, and follows the process for my 2006 987S.

I took delivery in March of 2006. The car was shipped in February, with a January build date.
