Carpet replacement question

Recommended Posts

and I'm trying to figure out my options. I currently have grey partial leather interior, of which I'm changing to full black leather (barring a few grey leather accents).

I need to replace the grey flooring and door pieces with new black carpet and I've been unsuccessful in finding a supplier. I don't want to use my locar dealer if I don't have to...

Any suggestions?

TIA,

Parker

I located a set of black carpet on eBay to replace my faded Boxster Red carpet. Paid $500 for the set. I tried dyeing a piece of the red carpet, but didn't like the look. I replaced the carpet myself, as it only involves removing the seats, center console, and rear console.

For the smaller trim pieces, such as those along the door frames and the fuse box cover, I simply took them to an upholstery shop and they replaced the carpet. Ran about $120.

I also went with the GT-3 console delete, which negated having to re-carpet the two pieces on either side of the center console. $100 for the part in matching carpet.

Finally, the bottom of the door panels were done by the local dealer's interior trim guy, and he charged $200.

Total to convert carpet: $920.

New look with black carpet and Boxster Red seats with large leather package (red-leather dash): priceless.

Good luck!

Carlos
