Fabspeed Cold Air Installed

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I recently installed this cold air package on my '03 C4S.

Went in very easily (about 10 min.).

I also added the BMC filter.

The car sounds more aggressive and throttle seems more responsive.

I added my own fasteners because the factory ones seemed to thin and did not seal

the larger tube as well.

My other mods in the future will be a new exhaust system with headers. Does any one have any preferences?

Cargraphic are good. I have the 200 cell versions of their cats and their headers. I'm told the 100 cell ones wear out and/or cause problems. I've never thrown a CEL with my 200 cell cats. Even though I have a Boxster and you have a 996, I think it's still a good recommendation, they make quality stuff. Along with the EVO intake and Powerchip, it helps me make 264.5 hp. I like Powerchip because you can send them your dyno pulls and they'll make the necessary changes to the spark and fuel maps. Oh yeah, mine is a 2002 Boxster 2.7, not bad for a car that's supposed to make 217 hp.

I too have this modification but later was told to put back in the grate in the MAF that Fabspeed says to remove from a tuner (Gunther) at Sporttech out of Switzerland. He says it helps direct airflow over MAF sensor.

Jim
