Diy Question On Front Windshield Dash Pillars

Recommended Posts

Someone posted some time ago, either here or on another forum that they do snap off if you give them a good pull. He was installing different defroster pieces, and those defroster pieces have a metal hook on the end that doesn't come out w/o removing the pillars. I have personally NOT tried this!

Thanks for the reply, Don. I already tried to remove the defroster panels without taking off those pillars, and I really damaged the lower end of those pillars. Looking at the way the hook on the defroster cover goes underneath the the pillar, I just don't see how anyone can take the defroster panel out without taking off the pillar first. I just wish I knew how to do it before I tried it. Well, I guess this gives me the opportunity to experiment with dismounting the pillars since I will need replacements now anyway. I'll keep you posted.
