Help Needed, When To Access Can Bus?

I'm working on a project to attempt to reverse engineer the CAN bus protocols of the ME7.2 for data acquisition and need help.

Looks like I will not be getting shop manuals anytime soon. So, is there anyone out there with a shop manual willing to look up where the best place for me to access the CAN bus of my 2001 996 C2?

I'm hoping that the OBD-II connector already has it on a couple of the pins or it is at least running somewhere near the fuse box.

If not there, which lines that go into the ECU are the CAN bus?
