04 C4S, Worthy engine mods, intake/plenum/cats

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

just got my 04 C4S, wondering if any of the easy mods I've looked at are worth it.

Specifically, cold air inatke, plenum, high flow cats, sport exhaust or chip.

Appreciate any first hand experience, or even hearsay!

thanks,

JP

I like my Fabspeed CAI. You might want to do a Short Shift kit too. Im looking at the RSS Plenum now. I hate the $1000 price new but would definitely go for a used one. The cats are not going to give you much unless you include a highflow manifold and mufflers to go with it. Unless you do all that work yourself, IMHO the bang for your buck would be too small. I agree with viper about the chip.

Norby,

I have thee Fabspeed mufflers and cold air intake on my 996 C2. Its a sound upgrade more than anything. But I like it much more than the sound of a stock 996. I love the sound of my car. I have the chip as well. I bought the car with all these mods including the short shift kit (a must have IMHO)

I have the RSS plenum too. I bought it used from another member of the forum. In my case the performance gain is noticable. I love it. I agree that the ask price of $1000 for a new one is a bit much.

Would forget about the cats. A waste of money in my opinion.

If you want one see if you can find a used one (the plenum.)
