Dension Gateway 500 and PCM1

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a 911 2002 which has the PCM1 16 bit Nav system and Bose Sound

I am told that the Dension 500 is compatible but before I take the plunge would love to know if anyone else has tried the system with PCM1. Is the PCM1 a fibre optic system ( my car is around July 2002)

Also has anyone also tried the bluetooth adapter that comes with the system

Thanks for any knowledge it will be much appreciated

Michael

The first pre-release Gateway 500s (~1.5 year ago) was mainly developed on a 2003 Cayenne PCM1. It had a MOST optical bus, but the fiber optic cables were made by Yazaki and not Tyco (all cars nowadays uses Tyco cables/connectors).

For this reason Dension offers a Yazaki->Tyco optical conversion kit.

Anyway the functionality will be the same as on PCM2 or PCM2.1.

Thank you for your response.

I also put a call into Porsche UK with my chassis no and they confirmed that although the car is a 2002 it does infact have the MOST system fitted so I am having this done this weekend. The guy fitting it said he has both types of the kit you mentioned
