clunk when accelerating

Recommended Posts

Hi to all

I had my car parked for 3 weeks. Now I noticed a clunk when I accelerate when i take off from a stand still. I dont know exactly where it is coming from.

When my hand is on the centeral console I feel it there but the sound sceems to come from under the drivers side. I dont think it is the hand break. It makes the noise going forward and backward

Anybody got an ideas I see mention of sway bars on other posts. How do I check them and what would their symptons be if they were faulty.

thanks in advance

Motor mount? I have had things creak in my first 911 parking it for a month after driving in the rain. Brisk driving usually worked them out. If the car did not make the noises before you parked it I do not see why it would make them now. Are you sure the kids didn't find the key and take it out while you thought it was parked?? My approach would be to check tire pressure first, lift the car and make sure you did not drag something up into the suspension. Get a look at the sway bar links. A good start? Good luck.
