Programming automatic door locks

How to program automatic door locks when my car does not have the Sports Crono Package is the question. My car is a 997 model.

As I understand it, this will have to be done at a OPC dealership. Unfortunately my OPC dealership did not know the official procedure for doing this was :huh:

I explained to them that I thought that this was done through the use of the PIWIS tool. Not sure if this is correct, as they were unable to find the functionality for setting the automatic door locks in the PIWIS tool.

Reading through the TSB for the 996 model (TSB 9687) the procedure explains using the PST2 tool. Does anyone know if the procedure and tool is the same for the 997?

It is more complicated than before and you need either a PIWIS or an aftermarket product. I am surprised the OPC doesn't know how to do it.

The aftermarket product is remoteKey and is made by mods4cars.

If you get a RemoteKey, you also get Beep on locking, Rear mirror down in reverse, one touch up passenger window, delay on trunk opening, Windows up & down with key, etc. Best mod you can buy!!

My dealership had a hard time doing this too on my 987. On the second try (diff. tech), they got it right.

You need PIWIS - menu 997 - sub menu PAS - coding - scroll till door lock - you got 3 possibility's a) no locking B) locking at start ( = ignition on ) c) locking > 5 km/h. - mark for example lock at start and push code button - mark key 1 and do the same - mark key 2 and do the same - abandon coding - abandon menu PAS - abandon menu 997 - done.

Thanks for this excellent explaination, RFM, on how to get this done through the PIWIS ! I personally am also a bit surprised that the OPC didn't know the procedure. Perhaps they have never done this before, although I would expect an OPC to have a way to look this up (like an internal FAQ or electronic manual to do a search in). Besides this the OPC service I have got have always been great.

Also thanks to everyone else on the comments on RemoteKey product, which also looks good, although I personally prefer to go with the official Porsche procedure for the programming of the locks (who knows if something should go wrong perhaps the car insurance won't cover, e.g. in case of theft from car)
