New to Porsche and question

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My name is Patrick and I just bought a Guards Red / black Leather 1999 Carrera Coupe', with 6 speed; I've named AXEL. I looked in the search area and couldn't find an answer to a small question, so I thought I say HI and ask.

When my 'complete' air filter housing is bolted in (this means the one 13mm or 14mm bolt located toward the back of the car .ie bumper; about the middle of the box) I can push on the right (passenger side; top) of the box and it will move down. I can grab the part that the air comes down to the filter, and it will move down on that side. I took the complete box out and there are two 'pins' that are on the bottom, rear side, of the box, but no rubber washers in the frame (part of the inner engine compartment) for the 'pins' to go into.

SOooooo, am I missing something or is the complete box kind-of loose?

Thanks for any help.

Patrick

Thanks,

I'll get these as soon as I can. BTW, my wife's family lives in and around Gulfport, we go down there two or three times a year. She just got back last week and will be going back down for a class reunion later this Summer. Maybe we can get together?

Thanks again,

Patrick
