Removing Engine...how high?

Recommended Posts

I am going to be removing my engine soon to do a rebuild. There is a noise coming from the block and it sounds very inconsistant. If I rev up the engine, the sound goes away. I fail to believe that my engine is trashed and that I will need a new engine so I am going to tear it apart and rebuild it. As of now, my car can start up and drives perfectly (aside from the noise).

Anyways, I will be doing all the work in my garage. I have pulled bmw engines out from the past but removing porsche engine is a whole new story to me. How high will I need to lift the car to pull the engine out?
