Harsh noise from under the vehicle

Recommended Posts

I have noticed this quite a few times so far, and as usual it does not occur all the time :( .

When I am backing up (say from parking space) and the wheel is turned in either direction, I sometimes here a harsh noise coming from the underside of the vehicle. First it sounded like the emergency break is making th noise since I can also feel some vibration, but one time I was outside helping the driver (my brother that day) back into a parking spot and noticed it came from the underside of the vehicle.

The best way to describe the noise is to imagine closing a door where it rubs agains the concrete and it you push it to close is the best analogy I have. So it it metal on metal noise.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Sounds very harsh! I don't know what that is... keep us posted when you find out...

I was wondering if this was related to the cardan shaft issue mentioned in http://www.renntech.org/forums/index.php?s...l=shaft+cayenne ...
