Bosch Platinum +4

Recommended Posts

Greetings,

I checked the archives and came up without an answer. I searched "Bosch Platinum +4" several times and came up with an error messege, then just tried "Bosch Spark Plugs" and could not find an answer to my question.

Anyway...'98 Boxster 5 Speed needed new plugs. I told the indie shop to PLEASE make sure they used a plug in the proper heat range. They used the Bosch Platinum +4 with a Bosch part number 4417.

The plugs are now in there, and they told me those were the plugs recommended by Bosch (of course they are!!) so I guess I now need to know if those are in the proper heat range. Not too worried about claims of more HP etc, I just want to know if they are OK for the engine.

Thanks.

The plus 4 plugs seem to be a blanket cover type of spark plug. Bosch list them for two or three other heat range applications. I personally wouldn't use them and have a friend who installed them on his '01 boxster with no problems.... or I should say with no problems as of yet.
