Does my car have the PCM Phone Module?

Recommended Posts

I purchased my 04 CTT last week. Initially I had an issue with the nav unit however I found that the fiber optic cable from the nav unit was not connected. Now it works fine however I am getting a error when starting that says "SYSTEM ERROR- PHONE, CD CHANGER NOT AVAILABLE". This is the same error that I got in the past however it also stated that the nav unit was not avail, however that is now resolved.

I am not worried about the CD Changer as my car does not have a changer. How can I find out if my car has the Phone Module. If I can figure out whether or not my car has the phone module, then I should be able to get it working.

It does not have a phone module, none were available in the US that model year.

the error is signaling that the cd changer is not present, check that its physically there

Have the 04 CT in the US no phone module ? ROW 04 CT have the module under the right front seat ( mostly Motorola ) Anyway looks like the MOST circuit is not closed or wrong/incomplete coding.

I am sorry to continue to bug everybody about this however I am convinced that my car has a phone module. I realize that it would have been put in after 04. I have looked under the passenger seat and I am not sure what I am looking at. I see wires everywhere. I see several things that could be a phone module. Does anybody have a picture of the phone module in place or specific advice on how to find it.

Also, since my pcm starts with "System error- phone cd changer not available" and I am certain that I do not have a cd changer- is there a way to remove the cd changer from the pcm options so that there is not a error everything that I start the car.

thanks again

That error is a generic error.

Its telling you that there is something wrong on the Fibre BUS. It cannot talk to one or more componants.

People tried fitting a phone module to 04 US models, at one point they sold the parts kit but it was VERY expensive to install ($5K +) so I dont think anyone got it added, on top of that it sucked.

If you can get it hooked up to PIWIS then you may be able to get the error cleared if its just confused.
