Hi all

I have a 1997 cabriolet (993). Recently the right hand motor seized (I think) and the resulting torque on the roof snapped the frame and tore the top badly. I need a replacement, and was thinking of doing it myself.

Anyone have sources for replacements? Pelican parts seems to have the top canvas, but not the frames. I have seen LA Porsche Salvage yard, are they legit?

Any help, advice or consolation is appreciated.

BTW I live in the SF Bay Area, so any local sources around San Jose would be great.

I thought the 1997 only had one motor. I have a similar problem. The right hand motor on my '95 died and it ripped my top, but my frame is ok and was thinking of replacing the top myself and am wondering if I should consider DIY'ing it. I have bought lots of parts for LA Porsche Dismantlers and haven't had any problems.
