Gas/throttle pedal swap

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just wondering if anyone knows if the throttle pedal from an 05 Boxster will fit my 00 tip. (In other words are the actual pedals the same, I guess the actual assembly will be different) Shortly after getting the car the plastic hinge failed, I managed to bosch it with a brass one and some pop rivets, now an 05 one has come available so I want to simply take the pedal off the pedal assembly and swap not touching the rest of the tip stuff.

Incidentally, just replaced the front discs (rotors) and pads, got to be one of the easiest I have ever done, nice haveing all the pads the same, no inner and outer differences, caliper bolts easily accessible, definately a good DIY saved me £$£$£$£$.

The 9x7 pedal looks quite different to the 9x6 pedal on the PET.

I've got a pedal assembly from my '98 C2 tip which you would be welcome to have for the cost of the postage. The C2 had cable throttle, but you could use the cables on your existing pedal and transfer them to mine. As you have probably found, the pedal comes apart quite easily.

Drop me a PM if you would like it.

Pedals are different, the egas 9X6 pedal has a separate potentiometer while the 9X7 pedal has it integrated. The fit to the floor panel is different as well as the way the carpet fits around the pedal. Further the connectors for the potentiometer between the two are different.
