Sqweeky Front End

Recommended Posts

Hi, this is my first post, bear with me please.

My 99 C2 is Squeaking from the front end, it started 3-4 months ago and was only once in awhile. It has gotten steadily worse, to the point now that any movement in the front end makes the sound. If you push up and down on the front hood in park it will make the sound also. It seems to be equal from both sides but it’s hard to tell. I don't have much free time, I'm a soldier, but this is starting to drive me nuts. Thank you for your time. Jeff

The most common causes are: ball joints in lower control arms // sway bar rubbers // struts upper mounts. You can "feel" the squeal, if you grab with your hand the relevant points, and a helper push up and down the front of the car while parked.

Great idea, I'll try that. I have a anther question. When driving, but not all the time, when the car revs in up, but only when in gear, there is a rattle, but it sounds like a short in the radio static, but the sound will happen if the radio is off. The sound matches the revs, as in it gets louder as the car revs higher... any thoughts?
