997 Porsche airbag for rounded hub steering wheel NEEDED

Recommended Posts

Hello this is my first post so any feedback is appreciated!

I have a new steering wheel from a 997, black with the rounded middle hub and want the airbag center section with the horn button. I prefer the rounded center hub steering wheel and hope to have it mounted in a 964. Any suggestions? Is it possible? What is the part number for the center airbag for the rounded hub? What will it cost? I am even interested in a deployed airbag since I probably can't make the darn bag functional in the older 1991 964.

Oh yeah I would like to convert the steering column to an adjustable one. Maybe I should kill two birds with one stone replace the steering column with an adjustable one that will work with the 997 steering wheel.

The part number for the rounded hub steering wheel is 997-347-804-40-F0A

I think once the air bag is deployed the center section is virtually destroyed.

I've seen them listed on eBay but not often. You might be lucky and find someone who is replacing his steering wheel w/ an aftermarket or function button type who be willing to sell you his old one. You might try LA Dismantler @ http://www.911pcar.com/. They might have just what you're looking for.

If you end up buying it from Porsche you'd better be willing to open up your pocket book.
