Dension Ipod Issues - Need some help

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys

I installed the Gateway 500 ipod and blutooth kit over the weekend in my 997. Everything seems to be connected correctly, and it read the ipod straight out of the box, no need to have the dealer search for a cd changer in the MOST loop (I only had the Bose amp connected to the fiber loop before - no navigation, no cd changer)

Couple issues though: one of them seems really major:

1. MY single cd player in the pcm unit no longer works - when I turn the car on, a high pitched buzzing sound occurs. It goes away when I switch the input to am/fm, or to the cd changer which connects to the ipod gateway device. It also will not allow me to eject the cd that is currently in the pcm unit. Has anyone experience this with a dension install?

2. I followed the user manual directions, but still am unable to get the pcm unit to display the song titles, artist names, album names, etc for the ipod. Can anyone provide more clear directions to get this to work?

Thanks!

:clapping:

So, after some scolding from Eric at Bumper Plugs, I took the car into the dealer this morning to have them recode the system to look for a cd changer in the MOST loop. He was saying that even though the ipod connection was working, I could hear music through the dension unit, it would never activate 100$ until the system was correctly coded by the dealer. Took them 20 minutes. And everything works great now!!!! No more buzzing, the cd player now ejects. I haven't gone through the steps to have hte ipod readout on the pcm show the real titles of songs and artists, but I don't forsee there being a problem now. Will do it after work today.

Still have to route all the wires into hte glovebox before the project is 100% complete - when that's done, I'll post pictures and DIY instructions for the whole project.
