Suspension question 2000 996 C2 Cab

Recommended Posts

The previous owner installed H & R sport springs on my car. From looking at the suspension it appears that the stock dampners are still in place. The car handles poorly. :( Does anyone have these springs? If so what would be a good dampner to mate with them? The car has HRE replica 19 in wheels.

H & R says that these springs lower the car 1 1/2 to 2 inches. Attached is a pic that shows how low the car is. :o

Any suggestions or input would be appreciated.

Thanks!! :D

what up

i got an 02 cab c2 and i have the h & r springs on with stock dampeners but running 18s not 19s. let me tell you this much, w/o these lowering springs you would NOT be able to press 120+ due to air running underneath the front-end and causing lift. i know cuz it was my problem prior to install and after it fixed that as well as lower center of gravity which allowed me to run into a turn much faster! only downside is the springs are weak and not full suspension setup and due to a shorter spring i bottom out quite a bit. i dont know what kind of driver u are but if u like me with hard street use and some track go for JRZ for racey setup or billstien for the aggressive street setup. i would recommend some kind of 2 way adjustables. btw, your cab with the gt2 front-end looks dope! think i may do that after seeing yours.

my best

Tecra,

Thanks for the reply. I was looking at the Bilstein website and I saw the gas shocks for lowered cars. I can't afford the coilovers. You know anything about the Bilstien gas shocks? Would they be compatible with the H & R springs?

Thanks!

Although the GT2 bumper looks good it is a piece of crap. It doesn't funnel air to the radiators well and the tow hook hole doesn't match up. The previous owner installed the bumper. If you get one make sure you spend the extra cash and get a good one. NR Automotive has one. They have quality products. Here is the link http://www.nrauto.com/sub_index.asp?makeid...p;spage=Bodykit
