Headlight help!

Recommended Posts

I purchased a CPO 2007 987 S and noticed that the passenger side headlight had a protective film on it but the drivers side does not. I put a new film on the drivers side yesterday and I was checking to make sure all was well with the headlight operation and I noticed a funny thing... my passenger side headlight has a distinct blue color hugh around the very outside edge of the lense and the drivers side is much more greenish in color. Is this normal? I wonder if the entire drivers headlight was replaced (reason for missing film) and to cut corners they replaced it with a non HID headlamp. The car is supposed to have the HID lights as part of the package...

How can I check if I have HID headlamp on my drivers side? is there a part number to look for on the back of the headlight unit itself? If I had 2 different light units, would there be some kind of warning message from the computer?

I think I may just being paranoid but the dealer I purchase from has been less than honest with me about some other things as well!

Thanks for help!

Dan

Hi Dan,

Every porshce part has a part no. Why don't you remove both to see if the part no. match...you can look up the part no. on many of the sponsors of this site that sell the headlamps.

don't know why I didn't think of that :) I checked and everything is good, both are xenon.
