question about a dash piece...

Recommended Posts

I'm a first-time Porsche owner (1997 boxster) and first-time poster.

The previous owner installed carbon-fiber stuff all over the dash. I removed it around the passenger side air vents and all went well (3m tape). I moved to the driver's side to find that the PO decided to use super glue which has left the plastic pretty discolored. So...short story long... Is the piece of dash that surrounds the driver's side vent and headlight controls a small piece that can be replaced OR is it part of the greater dash? If it is a small replaceable part...where might I find one?

Thanks so much...

Thanks so much for the information and welcome!!!

This site and it's members are great! I have only had the boxster for 3 weeks and still grin the entire time I'm driving (and just now while just thinking about the car). :D

The dismantlers are always a smart first stop but I've found that they frequently only want to sell the bigger assembly rather than parting out the smaller pieces so you'll probably end up buying a new part from a dealer. My local dealer seems to have a perennial 15% discount on parts so my cost there is about the saem as I find at other dealers online. You may find that your local dealer does the same.
