Remote Control for Auxillary Heater

Recommended Posts

There is a two button remote, on/off, for the auxilliary heater. If not provided with the vehicle, one may be added and "trained" with the PST2/PST3.

The vehicle includes two antennas for this remote. One is wire shaped, in the rear spoiler, the other is a module, near the rear cargo lamp.

Wingless,

just curious if you've had one programmed for your Cayenne? I tried to buy a remote at the dealer, but they could not get the remote programmed. Claimed it is only programmable w/ ROW (rest of world) vehicles, not USA.

Sounds screwy, but they showed me in their manual where it stated ROW....

Thanks in advance!

TR

I've seen some docs that say the remote control is "only Row".

Let me know if you find out differently. I'd love to be able to turn mine on remotely.

As a side note...I was looking at the '05 order guide and notice that 7VE Pre Heater w/ Timer isn't listed. Love to know what's up with that.

They tried and failed to code the remote to the vehicle?

Correct. Claimed it wouldn't code. One has to believe there is a way around it.??

I read the following on rennlist, but have not esearched it yet.

If you're still interested in getting this functionality Webasto is supposed to be who provides the unit for the Cayenne.

http://www.webasto.us/am/en/am_auto_heaters_444.html

It looks like they also offer a remote option in the US.
