Electric/Memory Seat Adjustment Not Working

In my 2001 996TT the Electric Seats is only working intermittently, which is a bit of a worry if my wife has to drive the car as she can't reach the pedals !Sounds like a lose connection somewhere I guess but it even when the seat adjustment works the seat memory function is permanently disabled ??

The only thing I can tell you there is a TSb 9757 that mention a possible damage of the electrical harness under left seat. The fix is the addition of a new holder that guide the wire when seat movement....
