DSP installation

Recommended Posts

Hey, I can see there have been some writing about how to do the DSP upgrade.

I have just bought a used DSP amp. from another guy here on Renntech. After having been into the wiring diagrams and looking at the wires installed in my car, the conclusion so far is.

If you already have the soundpacket installed you will have an amplifier in the front named M490 the DSP amp. unit is called M680.

To the DSP unit there are 2 connectors one 18 pol and one 20 pol connector. The 20 pol connector is for connections from the amp to the 6 speakers plus powersupply to the DSP unit. That connector is equal to the M490 amp. units 20 pol connector.....BUT it will not fit due to 3 plastic fittings which you will need to cut away. (will post some pictures soon). The other 18 pol connector is for all the signals going in to the amp unit. But the difference here is that you on the DSP unit have a DSP-DATA pin 17 that needs to go to the info /navi system connector 2 (blue 26 pins) pin 14. Plus there is a DSP-GND pin 1 which goes to PIN 6 on the same connector 2 on the infosystem.

ALL this is ONLY if you have the Navisystem installed, if not you will need another DSP receiver M680-662 and then there is some additional wiring.

Now I just need to find out how to do the wiring from the new amp. to the infosystem.

Will post some pictures later, plus futher info. :drive:
