Horrible Brake Squeal

Today my 2000 Boxster made a terrible sound which emanated from the front brakes, mostly the left side. It rained a lot the last two days and the car sat outside on a gravel driveway. The sound stopped after about a mile, with me riding the brakes on and off. Rusty rotors? Stuck caliper? Is this normal?

I would not worry about it unless it happens again. Likely rust build up (oxidation) on the rotor....Once it is cleaned off it is fine. This can also happen to a certain degree when you wash the car and immediately park it overnight.

So unless you hear it and it persists, you should be fine
