Tip sticking on change up?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

Am new to this forum, and come seeking your expert opinions! I recently had my car in with the OPC for a major service. The car has 50k on the clock, I've had it for a year from 45K, and has always been serviced by the same OPC. Since the service its just not felt the same. The Gearbox doesn't feel as sharp as it used to. In auto it seems ok, if not as sharp as it was prior to the service. However, when If I use the steering controls to drop down a gear, and pull away, the gearbox no longer seems to change up before redlining. I could be mistaken but I thought that the when I would drop down a gear before, it would switch to manual, and then allow me to rev higher, but would automatically change up. Today, driving it, it appeared to hold the gear longer, and I saw it going into the red. It seems that the gears are sticking in manual. Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone know at what rpm the gears should be changing up?

The car is a 2002 C4S Coupe with Tip.

I have some other questions around issues raised at the service, but will post another post for that.

Thanks for all your help!
