PCM Software Level for 01/2010 DVD?

Recommended Posts

Does anybody know, which software Level is needed, if I want to use the new 01/2010 Navigation DVD?

My PCM is Version 4.0

PCM Version : 05395BD1

Navigation : 00174436

Is there any need to update the pcm to any higher level?

My Porsche Dealer told me, that they have to connect the whole car to the diagnostic system fpr 45 min. to update many things. Cost nearly 200$

I called Porsche Stuttgart (Development Department). They told me, that the only thing ist to put in a CD in the PCM an press OK.

Next and final step is to put in the DVD in an upgrade as usually.

I think, they want to rip me my money for nothing ;)

Kind regards

Jens

The developers don't update cars. I have heard of updates that have bricked the PCM because power was lost on the update.

thats right, but the know, that no diognostic system has to pluged to the car to complete the update. Only cd has to put in pcm to update.

The question is: is the software version of pcm higher than today with 2010 dvd ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

You already got PCM 2.1 Multimedia model level C (PCM unit version is 05395xxx, e.g. SW Versions 4.x). Thereafter, you have to update Navigation System unit only (via external DVD-Navigation module) - check TSB for details.
