Upgrade to PCM possible?

Recommended Posts

Hi All

i'm a newbie Cayenne owner, and have purchased an older 2003 cayenne s without the PCM nav system.

i would like to upgrade it and get the PCM with navigation and possibly some form of ipod connector.

i have just got rid of my old X5 which had the same kind of nav system, but the DVD system for the navigation was in the back of the car.

can you tell me if it is the same kind of thing with the porsche, ie: will i need to buy the front end navi screen and a box with the dvd & maps that hides somewhere in the back?

any advice for a newbie would be much appreciated, as i get to know the workings of this gorgeous motor

it is possible but will be a hassle + PCM 2.0 and PCM 2.1 (your car will not take the latest ones - PCM3 and PCM 3.1) dont have ipod connections so you are then looking at anouther $300-400 for ipod connector on top of pcm kit which has separate headunit and cd changer. just put a 3rd party unit in, will get more functionality than oem pcm will be cheaper and will look almost the same
