I recently check the codes on my 98 986. An alarm fault code of 34 came up. interior sensor faulty anyone know which sensor that is or were a listing on fault codes might be listed so I could research it myself? Thx in advance!

Fault 34 Passenger compartment monitoring sensor Short circuit to B+ or faulty

Possible cause of fault

- Short circuit to voltage in wiring between the alarm system control module and the passenger compartment monitoring sensor

- Passenger compartment monitoring sensor faulty

Is the code active? Some alarm codes just have a counter that you can't reset. Reset the code with a Durametric and see if it comes back and the count frequency increases by 1.

I`m pretty sure its active .I`m getting the 2 beeps when activating the alarm from the remote. Loren I cant locate repair or replace instructions in my Bentley manual. Do you know another reference I could use for this info? Thanks

Removal

1. Using a small screwdriver, carefully unclip both cover lenses at the openings provided. Undo M 6 (Torx T 30) fastening screws.

2. Remove locking hook holder and pull off electrical plug connections.

3. Unclip passenger compartment monitoring sensor at the side and remove from the locking hook holder.

Installation

1. Do not press on or touch the transmission/reception diodes with your fingers.

2. Engage electrical plug connections and route wire carefully(do not pinch).

Tightening t rque of the M 6 fastenings crews = 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)

3. The cover lenses must not be soiled or smudged with grease.

Clip in cover lenses again.
