PCM 2.1 update issues / failure

Recommended Posts

I just got a 2006 Turbo S, that was missing the nav dvds. It kept displaying a PCM temp cutoff message and turning off. I would reset the PCM it would be fine for a few starts. Now I tried to update the discs and it was not taking th software update. Then I reset PCM and now its completelty dead. U guys think everyhting is toast or what. Any help or suggestions is appreciated. Prolly time for a Kenwood head unit.

Are you using factory update disks or ebay units? It's shutting down due to overheating then you need to verify the operation of the cooling at the back of the unit.

I just pulled it all apart to check fuse in back of PCM and wiring. PCM has power and everything it needs. It is just dead. Tried all the methods to reset unit but guess it finnaly took a **** on me. Thanks for the help. They were factory discs. It had been acting up but I tought it was just becasue the navi discs were out which I have seen happen before.
