Softop problems ...

Hello all!

I bought a 1997 Boxster 2 weeks ago and i knew the softop wasn´t working and had to be fixed.

So i started to dismount some components like the transmission(one of the lever got broken),and i didnt noticed it had a major damage in one area.

There is a little ball on the softop mechanism where the pushrod from the transmission conects that is no longer there and its broken.

Now my question is: Can this be somehow fixed ?

Any help is really apreciated!!

If you succeed in having someone fabricate and weld the lug that has broken off, make sure that you check that the other side's steel ball is tight.

The lug onto which the steel ball is bolted is susceptible to breaking off if the thin nut which secures the steel ball onto the lug is loose.
