Front Suspension rattle

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

It might be of interest for those having the same issue

I have a C4S tiptro MY 2006, I covered 2000 miles since I bought it, porsche approved and 1 year Porsche guaranty , the car has now 80KMiles,

I have add a rattle coming from the front at every bump on the road since I got my car, there was also and a squeaking noise at low speed when I would turn the wheels only by warm weather, it wouldn't happen when it was raining

I brought the car to my porsche center, they changed the antiroll bushings, the struts bearings, the stabilizer mount. This had no effect at all but still they gave me the car back...Luckily I did not have to pay for it since it is under guaranty, but still they took my car for a full week for no results. I therefore went to another porsche center, they changed the complete shock absorber as well at the control arm ( the wishbone shaped one), I did also notice that the axle nut is new, maybe they changed the bearing also, anyway the car drive like new now

I believe the rattle came from the suspension and the squeaking noise from the control arm

80Kmiles for a suspension is not much, the previous owner only drove the car on the German Autobahn, is there an issue with the 997

Cheers
