Breakdown-Repair insurance

Recommended Posts

I have started to look for an 06 or 07 Cabrio..unfortunately it MUST be a Tiptronic......

In my research I contacted Mercury Insurance for a quote on their repair policy...we had one on the Me/Be CLK320 I just sold.

WOW, first of all they will not cover 4 wheel drives at all, and the cost for an 06 Platinum coverage (the "best") is about $7500 for 4 years 48,000 miles...but wait theres more an 07 would be $8100 for 60 months 100,000 miles....

So much for the 4wd's, and I think that at that cost I'll start looking at ONLY CPO cars....

By the way what are the differences between a "regular" Carrera and an S....

Try "Easy Care" Better with Porsches than Mercury. And yes you are correct in looking for a CPO car. It's the way to go. The Carrera S has a larger engine (3.8 liter) and slightly different suspension as well as exhaust tips.. If you are looking for a Carrera make sure to get the "sport Chrono" option as well as the sport seats and the Sport exhaust. You won't really pay more for these options but they were VERY expensive when ordered new.. Only the 4S Carrera is 4 wheel drive. The base Carrera and the S are 2 wheel drive. Good luck with your search..
